Graduate of North CarolinaA&TStateUniversity (NCA&TSU), bachelor’s degree in Biology. She has received a MBA from CardinalStritchUniversity.Mrs. Beckett has lived in Milwaukee since 1991. She is the mother of two great young men. James attends UWM and works at US Bankruptcy Court; Jason works at Harley Davidson. In 2000, she married Milwaukee entrepreneur William (Bill) Beckett, owner of Chrysalis Packaging & Assembly Corporation and a member of Leaders’ Forum, NAACP, NCA&TSU Alumni, Milwaukee Urban League Guild. Tina’s various interests, including cooking and healthy living.
Tina was on the past Chair of the Board of the Urban Economic Development Association (UEDA); past Board member of The Parenting Network. Volunteer experience has included the Milwaukee Library Literacy Program and The Sojourner Truth domestic violence shelter.
Mrs. Beckett recently retired from Miller Brewing Company after 26 years. Her tenure included positions at two breweries and at corporate in quality, technical learning and purchasing. This experience provided vast quality, manufacturing and procurement experience. While at Miller Brewing Company, from 1997 to 2006, she served as the Manager of Supplier Diversity & Procurement Contracts, providing strategic direction to the minority and women owned suppliers seeking to do business with corporations.
During this time, Miller’s spending with MBEs increased at an annual average of 8%. In 1998, Miller was presented with the AWARD OF MERIT from the Wisconsin Supplier Development Council for these accomplishments. Also during this period as Manager of Supplier Diversity and & Procurement Contracts, Mrs. Beckett was a presenter at the Metropolitan Milwaukee Area Chamber of Commerce Business Resource Networking Resource Program and standard presenter at the Wisconsin Supplier Development Council’s Business Management Seminar. She was listed in “Women Who Mean Business” in 1999 and featured on the Minority Business Report syndicated TV program in December 2001. In 2000, under her direction, Miller was presented with the AWARD OF EXCELLENCE from the Wisconsin Supplier Development Council.
She also earned the Small & Minority Business Advocate of the Year for 2002 for Wisconsin and the Midwest Region.Ms. Beckett started Nutshell Enterprises LLC in 2006, which is a consulting business that assists companies in developing effective business solutions (solutionsin a nutshell). Nutshell Enterprises LLC was engaged in October 2007 to develop the new non-profit organization called the Milwaukee Urban Entrepreneur Partnership (UEP). Mrs. Beckett serves as the Executive Director of the UEP, which focuses on minority business development and sustainability in Milwaukee’s urban communities.
