Milwaukee Urban Entrepreneur Partnership

435 W. North Ave., Milwaukee, WI  53212

The Urban Entrepreneur Partnership is a national program designed to encourage entrepreneurship in urban areas, particularly among minority entrepreneurs. This partnership combines public, private and nonprofit sector resources to expand entrepreneurship and jobs in historically neglected and economically underserved areas across the country.

Launched in the fall of 2006, the Milwaukee Urban Entrepreneur Partnership (MUEP) was designed to create alliances and marshal resources to better address the challenges of growing minority businesses to scale.

The MUEP serves minority business owners in the Milwaukee area.  Business owners are linked with resources, classes, training and counseling that will help grow and build profitable foundations for generations of success.

The hallmark of the MUEP model is the Kauffman Institute's "intrusive" coaching model, which has proven to be the most successful method of advancing minority, urban entrepreneurships.

The goal of the MUEP is to connect private, public and nonprofit resources to build successful and sustainable minority businesses.  The result will be wealth creation, job creation and better economic health in the minority and urban core communities in Milwaukee.

MUEP Coach Program

It is the mission of the MUEP's Coaching Program to provide high quality coaching experiences to minority business owners to enhance their long-term profitability and viability.  The comprehensive coaching process involves:

Assessing individualized needs;

Creating a personalized plan to prioritize and address their needs; and

Using a case management style relationship between the coach and entrepreneur.
